As one of China's most important artists and poets, Mao Yan and Han Dong began their contacts in 1994. Living together in nanjing, they have similar daily tracks and historical echoes in their acquaintance of more than 20 years, and have intersecting connections with contemporary poets, artists, writers and directors. They talk about writing, appreciate each other, recommend their favorite books, ideas, and friends, and maintain deep and frequent exchanges of ideas. In this flat reality, this precious process, appears extremely twinkling.
Exhibition will be built around this depth of communication, which runs through my poet become the secrets of the clues, this is the portrait of a Mao Yan Han Dong created in 1997, the work went on to become history of art and literature in the era of specific examples of intersection. The relationship between painting and poetry is gradually elaborated in the exhibition hall. More than 40 paintings of MAO yan and 25 poems and dozens of proverbs of han dong interspersed and intersected with each other and pointed to other places, spiralling up along the "hui" exhibition hall. A set of separate display of the painting, a few are poetry, a combination of poetry and painting, different way of viewing, formed a number of different experience system. In the exhibition space, they change scenery step by step and break the integrity of the narrative of the main line of reality, which not only presents the interconnection and ambiguity between the two people's works; And separate the individual systems of independent exploration, continuous advancement, and concentration.
Poem "theater in mountain and Mao Yan of a set of abstract paintings, will the journey to the accident of a wider world. A symbol slightly different from the creation and coexistence in reality, or as described by han dong in his poem, "tents and bonfires are everywhere in the wilderness", as the end of the exhibition. Mao Yan and Han Dong story, like we know the Chinese culture in the 80 s intensive exchanges between various fields, the formation of the relevance and spirit of The Times. Or, in the longer history, in the golden age, between artists, writers, poets, countless classic stories.

The Hearsay
The town of Chong Cao had experienced a quick rise and decline. A reporter came to investigate, and he only learned that the world would be destroyed by the meeting of two madmen in the town. The reporter did not believe such a nonsensical rumor and attempted to expose. However, the reporter’s efforts were thwarted by various people. These townspeople all had different opinions. Truth and lies were difficult to distinguish, appearing as if there was a hidden plot. Suspense continuously ensnared the reporter. He tried everything to let the madmen meet with each other, but resulted in angering the town authorities, and ultimately violence. What lies behind the mystery? What exactly would the meeting of the two madmen cause? What is the destruction of the world? Or perhaps what we have seen is already a destroyed world.
