Adrian Wong Ho-Yin
Untitled
Wall IV
2012
Adrian Wong is an artist who is based in Hong Kong and Los Angeles. This piece was inspired by the artist's encounter with a retaining wall behind Chungking Mansions in Tsim Sha Tsui area, Hong Kong. This particular wall was covered in mosaic tile patterns, with several layers of patterns having been laid down, one over the next. This wall epitomizes the historical topography of Hong Kong; at the same time, it provides evidence for the artist's not-too-distant "Hong Kong identity".
